Christopher L. Barnes
Mr. Barnes recently joined the firm after working for over five years at a large Dallas defense firm as an associate and then a partner. There, he specialized in complex commercial litigation, including participating in the defense of a major U.S. commercial carrier in two airline accidents, consulting for another major U.S. commercial carrier on the Warsaw Convention and the intercarrier agreements on passenger liability as well as potential liability arising from codesharing relationships, the defense of a railroad in a class-action suit brought on behalf of over 100,000 shareholders, the civil-rights suit of a private high school to join the Texas University Interscholastic League, the defense of a bio-technology company in several multi-million dollar state and federal lawsuits brought by former preferred shareholders under the Delaware General Corporation Law and the federal securities laws, and the defense of two cardiologists in a lawsuit arising from their participation in a physician peer review. While with Pezzulli Kinser, LLP, Mr. Barnes has participated in the appellate briefing in a series of civil-rights lawsuits arising out of custodial sexual misconduct and other abuses in a city jail.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Barnes served for one year as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Bobby R. Baldock of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and for two years as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Robert B. Maloney of the United States District Court for the Northern District Court of Texas, Dallas Division.

Koch Industries, Inc., 203 F.3d 1202 (10th Cir. 2000); International Transactions, Ltd. v. Embotelladora Agral Regiomontana, S.A. de C.V., No. 3:01-CV-1140-G, 2002 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 20448 (N.D. Tex. Oct. 22,2002) (granting defendants' motion to dismiss for lack of standing) (appeal pending); Verdesca v. American Airlines, Inc., No. 3:99-CV-2022-BD, 2000 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 15476 (N.D. Tex. Oct. 18, 2000) (ruling for the defendant on all issues).
